About Buhara Village

Buhara Village is nestled in the lovely crater lakes of Fort Portal, Uganda, surrounded by rolling hills covered in banana and bean plantations, and boasting a breathtaking view of the Rwenzori Mountains. There are approximately 400 families in Buhara, the majority of them subsistence farmers. This means they live and work together as a family, growing what they need to survive and selling the surplus in order to raise school fees, meet medical costs and invest in cattle or goats.
