HIV/AIDS Outreach Initiative
Chronic illnesses connected to HIV/AIDS, as well as financial difficulties which are the result of ill or deceased parents have contributed significantly to the number of disadvantaged learners in Buhara Village. As a result, Team Buhara seeks to educate guardians and children alike about HIV/AIDS and to provide community members with opportunities to gain information, learn their status, and take control of their lives.
WHAT WE DO:
- We sensitize Team Buhara members and beneficiaries about testing, treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS.
- We sensitize the larger Buhara Village, and its neighboring communities, about testing, treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS.
- We offer routine counseling and testing to members of Buhara Village and surrounding communities. As well as to encourage those living positive lives to reach out to the joint clinical research center.
- We coordinate a support group within the community for those living positive lives.
