Our Mission

We are a local, voluntary, non-religious, not-for-profit, non-governmental, Community Based Organization which strives to meet the educational needs of orphaned and financially disadvantaged learners in Buhara Village. The organization seeks to financially support members of Buhara Village so they can continue their formal education.

Our vision is to see a village community where all financially disadvantaged learners have the opportunity to reach their academic potential. We imagine a village in which their schooling is secure and their skills are developed. We hope that through assistance in education, they are able to contribute to the development and well being of the Buhara community, and of the greater Uganda.

Our mission is to improve the economic and social well being of orphans, and other vulnerable learners in Buhara Village by supplying them with educational opportunities and vocational training.

Of course, issues of poverty cannot be addressed in isolation; rather, any school sponsorship program must also tackle school quality, the HIV/AIDS epidemic which is the leading cause of learner vulnerability, family planning, adult literacy and advocacy skills, and income generation. The problems facing Buhara Village arise in concert with each other, and so must be addressed with similar synchrony.
